Royston Radio Support Royston Fire Station Halloween Event 2024

A big shout out to the amazing crew at Royston Fire Station who put on their spooktactular FREE Halloween event. The local community turned out in huge numbers to enjoy fairground rides, hot food and drinks, miniature train rides, Gerry's Mobile Ices and a wonderfully lit scary indoor display crammed with skeletons, witches, pirates, spiders and ghouls.

Royston Radio At The Barkway LitFest 2024

We had a  great day supporting James Riley in collaboration with Bow Books at BarkwayLitFest. A real variety of fantastic authors and genres. Well done to Julia Cole for winning our ticket competition. Best dressed award goes to 'Sophia' in her rainbow coat of many colours. We met some wonderful Buddy Holly fans and a special mention to 'Honey' the dog who we found chewing the fat in the Green room.

Royston Radio At Gala in the Gardens 2024

'Twas a spectacular and sunny Saturday at ‘Gala in the gardens’ as part of the Royston Arts Festival. Lots of amazing community stalls and food courtesy of Street Food Heroes and Horsebox Coffee Shop. Our friends from Limitless Academy Of Performing Arts were amazing. So much great entertainment throughout the day – we danced along with Acro Iris Samba and marvelled at the extremely talented Arts Fest cover girl, I, Claudia.

The Bassingbourn Cat Show 2024

We were delighted to attend the cat show at Bassingbourn sports centre today. Huge congratulations to the show winners and everyone who took part. The top winner and ‘best of best’ in both shows was Imperial Grand Champion and Premier, ‘Marilljos Boss in Motion.’ This handsome 8 year old cat is a seal tabby point Siamese. On Saturday night we supplied the soundtrack to the sell out Bow Books birthday event ‘Scream and Shout’ at the The Old Schoolhouse Royston. Dr. James Riley gave a fascinating talk on the history of 60’s and 70’s music and signed copies of his latest books ‘Bad Trip’ and ‘Well Beings’ both of which can be purchased at the bookstore in Angel Pavement.

Royston Radio At Barrington's Forget Me Not Club

What a wonderful afternoon we had on Thursday holding our Memory Lane event at The Forget Me Not club in beautiful Barrington. The club members shared memories of times gone by and browsed through some amazing scrapbooks and photos albums kindly supplied by Barrington History Society. We even had some confessions !! They also chose a song that meant something special to them or just a favourite track. Our Director even found himself in a photo having attended the local school when he was young !

We were invited to attend the opening of the Letchworth Festival in Leys Square alongside Diamonds Roadshow Disco with today's theme focusing on ‘Fitness, Wellbeing and fun.’Garden City Samba kicked things off with an amazing walk around Leys square shopping area followed by Imajica Theatre who entertained the crowd with their belly dancing skills.The Everyone Active team were there to keep people moving too.

Royston & District Twining Association's 50th Anniversary

We were honoured to be part of the celebrations for the Royston & District Twinning Association's 50th Anniversary and helped to welcome our German friends from Großalmerode including Mayor Finn Thomsen. A well run quiz and a brilliant band entertained everyone in our very own iconic building, Royston Town Hall with beautiful roses we purchased especially for the occasion from Royston Market.
